With the flood of messages coming via the Internet plus television and other media, great public speaking is more crucial than ever for an entrepreneur or business person to stand out and connect more deeply with more clients. Yet many business people overlook this important opportunity or don’t always make the most of it.
Whether they are held back by fear of public speaking, wondering how to organize material or uncertain about how to best connect with listeners, Tracy Davidson (NBC 10) and John Rasiej (Speak Louder Than Words) will talk about their experiences and will present approaches and techniques that can help speakers create a bigger impact with their message. Applying these tips and ideas will allow speakers to present their products, services and concepts with greater confidence and better attention from the audience, leading to stronger buy-in. We will focus on how to find opportunities, deliver the message with confidence and impact, and following up to attract clients.

Keynote Speaker - Tracy Davidson, NBC 10
Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist Tracy Davidson co-anchors NBC 10 News at 5PM and delivers comprehensive consumer reports and health news. Throughout the years, Davidson has informed consumers about scams and dangerous products, and she has hosted numerous successful ‘Shredder’ events throughout Greater Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, South Jersey and Delaware. These events make it possible for thousands of consumers to safely dispose of their personal and confidential documents to keep them safe from identity thieves. Recently Davidson and her consumer team have hosted regular “Get a Job” events here at the NBC Studios to help the unemployed in our area get the skills to get back to work.
Davidson joined WCAU in 1996 after spending nearly ten years anchoring and reporting for CBS affiliate, WTVH, in Syracuse, New York. In addition to her television experience, she has a very extensive background in radio. From 1981-1986, she worked for several New York radio stations.
Davidson has earned several prestigious awards for her work in broadcasting. In 2008, she was awarded a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for 'Best News Anchor.' Also in 2008, the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Delaware Valley honored Davidson as the recipient of their “A Credit to Greater Philadelphia” Community Award. The Philadelphia Business Journal and the National Association of Women Business Owners honored her with “The Woman of Distinction” award in 2004, Women in Communications named her the 1995 “Communicator of the Year,” and in1992, her dedication to community service to women and children of Vera House, a battered women's shelter, earned her the Sister Mary Vera Award.
Davidson currently serves on the March of Dimes Board of Directors and has served as the Honorary Chair of the March of Dimes’ WalkAmerica for several years. In the past, she has served on the Board of Directors for CORA, an organization serving families in Northeast Philadelphia, and on an advisory board for Laurel House, a domestic violence shelter in Norristown. In 2004, Davidson was honored by Laurel House for her work and continued support of the non-profit organization. Davidson and her friends spent hours training and fundraising, and then completing “The 3-Day”, a 60-mile breast cancer walk held in Philadelphia in October of ’07.
In addition, she is a member of St. Matthias Church in Bala Cynwyd, PA, where she serves as a Minister of Holy Communion. In 2009, Tracy completed a Religious Studies Certificate at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood. She is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling at Chestnut Hill College.
Born in Oil City, located in Western Pennsylvania, Davidson attended the State University of New York at Geneseo and graduated from Temple University.
Speaker - John Rasiej
John Rasiej is a communication coach and public speaking mentor who has worked with clients around the U.S. from New York to California. Speak Louder Than Words was created to help heart-centered entrepreneurs speak their messages with clarity and more impact so listeners would be inspired to take positive action. John’s approach embraces techniques from an old and true source: the theatre. He blends 20 years experience as a director, adds a focus on business strategies and applies them to public speaking. He is the author of the book “Speak Louder Than Words – Five Ways You Can Change Lives (and Boost Your Bottom Line) Through Great Public Speaking."
